Maths - Word Problems


Hey Room 2!

Have a go at working out these maths problems! Write your maths sentence and answer on a piece of paper and hand it in to me. Good luck!

1. Sarah and Joey spent the entire afternoon playing in the snow. When they came in they decided to have some hot chocolate to warm up. Sarah added 7 marshmallows to her mug. Joey dropped 6 marshmallows in his hot chocolate.

· Write the maths sentence

· How many marshmallows did Sarah and Joey use all together?

2. Kelly is keeping track of the amount of snowfall at a ski resort this month. So far it has snowed twice. The first snowfall was 18 centimetres. The most recent snowfall was 48 centimetres.

· Write the maths sentence.

· How many centimetres of snow has fallen on the resort all together?

· How many centimetres fell the second time than the first?
