We have been learning all about how we can help New Zealand's endangered animals. After learning about the Yellow-Eyed Penguin, one way we thought we could help was to make huts for them. These huts would be models of the kind of homes penguins could live in.
These huts would be useful for the penguins to:
- store food
- find shade
- be protected from predators
- keep cool in
We had to work with our learning buddy and come up with a design. Miss McCartin only gave us 30 ice-block sticks and tape to make it from. After accepting the challenge we were under way!!
You had some great ideas for shelters for the Hoiho. Do you know that the Hoiho is about the most endangered penguin in the whole world!
