Buddy class

As part of our Te Reo Kori, we have been learning poi and the school haka. On Wednesday we teamed up with our buddy class (Room 5). The girls taught us poi and the boys taught us the haka. At the end we performed to one another. It was great fun!

SNAILS

We have been learning all about snails for our science unit! We have been observing snails move, watching as they leave tracks of mucus.  We also observed them crawl along glass so we could see the underside of them. Their foot is  like a wave moving them and their shell along. (One of our snails escaped....and was eating our paper sign!!)

We have learnt how to use a digital mircoscope. We could examine the snails up close on our TV screen.

While we were observing our snails, we took notes on what we were seeing. Afterwards we were able to label the body parts of a snail and describe in detail what they look like, how they move and how they felt on our skin.

Wheelchair rugby

We were very fortunate on Wednesday because we got to play wheelchair rugby. It was a lot of fun! Although we had lots of fun, we were reminded of how important it is to wear seat belts and that we should always look out for one another. We only have one body so we need to take care of it!!

We love going to the library!

We really enjoy going to the library to get new books! We have been learning how to issue and return our books so we can get new ones.
